Nagpur: The flat decks in India no longer worry pacers, said South Africa captain Graeme Smith as he attributed Dale Steyn's devastating form in the first Test against India to a changed mindset of not letting conditions dictate bowling.

Fast bowler Dale Steyn ripped out both Australian openers as the tourists were put under pressure on the first day of the first Test against South Africa at the Wanderers Stadium on Thursday. Australia were 78 for three at lunch after winning the toss and batting on a pitch which gave the fast bowlers some help, with swing and seam movement.

Dale Steyn and Makhaya Ntini took three wickets apiece to bowl Australia out for 222 in the fourth One Day International in Adelaide. It means that South Africa have been set a target of 223 to win the series, as they are already 2-1 up. After Australia won the toss and chose to bat, Ntini found his range swiftly to have David Warner (1) caught by Morne Morkel, in the side after Mark Boucher was ruled out for the rest of the series with a fractured toe, leaving AB de Villiers to take over behind the stumps.
