South African cricket captian Graeme Smith couldn’t believe it when Ricky Ponting decided to bowl first in the Port Elizabeth one-dayer on Monday. Ponting’s decision backfired with South Africa compiling a formidable 6-317 before bowling the tourists out for 256 to claim an unbeatable 3-1 lead in the five-match series.

Stuart Clark has been called into the Australian squad after Brett Geeves was forced to fly home from the South Africa tour with a fractured foot. Clark missed all six Tests against South Africa with an elbow injury and had been preparing to make his comeback playing for Kent in English county cricket after signing an early-season deal ahead of the Ashes series.
